BRYAN GLASS, Lead Pastor

Bryan considers it a blessing to be part of the Berean Family and is so excited to see the passion for God, love for God’s Word, and the loving relationships that are part of this body. Bryan and his wife Kristin are both committed to seeing people of all ages and stages transformed by the Gospel. They are also the proud parents of three children named Gloria, Julia, and Noah. Bryan has received his THM in Bible Exposition from Dallas Theological Seminary. He also graduated from LSU and promises to cheer for the UT Vols just as long as they are not playing the Tigers. Bryan’s hope for Berean is that we would be a church that is gripped by the glory of God, saturated by the Word of God, and continually transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ while also reaching all of Knoxville and the world with the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ.

FRED FREED, Associate Pastor

Fred has a music education degree from Tennessee Tech University and has been in full time ministry since 1982, serving churches in music/worship ministry and youth ministry before joining the Berean staff in 1999 as associate pastor and worship leader. Fred’s wife Connie is a teacher at Berean Christian School, and they have 5 grown daughters and 8 grandchildren. The heart of authentic worship at Berean comes from a heart of brokenness, gratitude, adoration, and an understanding of who God is and who we are, and what Jesus has accomplished through the cross and resurrection. Fred oversees the worship and music ministry at Berean. His desire is to see the entire body worshipping in spirit and in truth both corporately and individually, and pursuing a passionate and intimate walk with Jesus. He also serves in discipling and mentoring.

earl pictureTJ EARL (& wife Rachel), Student Pastor
TJ is an East Tennessee boy and is thrilled to be back home in Knoxville. He has spent the last four years as a student pastor in South Mississippi and did several internships in Knoxville before his time here. He graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in Religion and is currently studying for his M.Div. in Theology at Liberty as well. He has been married to Rachel since 2013 and she is a vital part of his ministry at BBC, and they also have a newborn son named Tripp. TJ has a strong passion for Student Ministry and has a desire to see every teen in Knox County come to find a relationship in Jesus. We are all Vol and want nothing to do with Bryan’s silly Tigers. TJ and Rachel love sports and the outdoors and make it a mission to have fun daily. TJ prays that the student ministry would follow after the mission of the church and develop devoted followers of Jesus Christ who demonstrate and declare the life-transforming power of the Gospel.
